When They Lie

 They say, it's because you can't handle the truth.  How do they know?  Do they know what my reaction will be and it isn't what they wanted to see?  

I learned that a pastor we had when I was a teen, advertised himself as a major in the air force.  I was doing some online research today and I can't find evidence that he was a major.  Yet, he was a pilot in the air force.  What's wrong with that?  Besides that, whether or not he was a major or a pilot has nothing to do with his ability to pastor.  It turns out he only actually pastored three years out of the past 46 years.

What kind of  "pastor" does that?

I have heard exaggerations and lies and I don't know what else my whole life.  People who claim to be God's man and they don't excell beyond a couple of years of fervency.  

What I have come to understand in later years, 61 of them, is that there is a lot of prevarication and lying going on.  I wish there were more men like Billy Graham.

 I told my uncle that in heaven we will behold Jesus and love Him forever.  He responded, I'm not staring at Jesus for eternity, I'm going fishing. Wow!  He said it!  I'm not staring forever either, but I will have some time admiring Him and wondering a lot of things about Him and us and eternity and reality and all the discussions about how long it took for all of this to take place that has taken place. Come To Me

  Human beings have straying hearts.  Human beings have hungry hearts.  Human beings love new and love old.  Human beings innovate, stumble on things but reflect and reminisce about past victories or good family memories.   I came across the song We'll Meet Again.  I heard someone on YouTube playing it on a 1939 Hammond organ so I looked up the singer and found her.  She is Vera Lynn and she passed away in 2000 at 103 years young. There is a video of her performing the song for British troops and the connection is palpable.  There is very little in the world that connects people truly.  The history of the world is connection, disconnection and reconnection.  There are times when we feel a connection and we wonder where it could lead if anywhere.  Then we are surprised to find that the next encounter isn't the same and the connection was lost.  There are times when I connected with people because of music but outside of it there...
